Gorgeous place. Seems underrated for the views. Cute visitor center for post cards and the like with great staff. Some fun hiking trails. Best spring water ever. Even better than Zion and the Grand Canyon. I don't know why. But its great.
Visited in late October. Visitor center and facilities were closed for the season, but the park is open as late in the year as weather allows. Amazing views and impressive bristle cone pines along the trails. The trail i hiked was 2 miles long and doesn't look back, making it a 4 mile hike. Elevation change was about 650'.
Beautiful! The hike to the lake was amazing. Take the lower trail both ways as the upper trail gives no view of the canyon. It is a lot like Bryce and offers several breathtaking and easily accessible views. Well worth the drive.
Fun oasis away from the heat of the dessert. I would definitely go again.
The only thing I would warn of is that it is a steep climb. We did it with a 2001 Jeep Wrangler pulling a 3000lb camper, but I wouldn't bring up a camper or trailer if you don't have to.
Cedar Breaks National Monument sits at 10,000 ft. It is in the area of Brian Head and Brian Head Peak. On the way up you’ll see lots of animals. There is also spectacular views of different lakes around Brian Head and the ski resorts that it is so famous for. From the monument, you will be able to see the landscape for miles. The scenery is astonishing as you can see all of the rock formations in The Valleys below. Not much else to do up there then to just take pictures and gaze at the wonderful view, but back in the city of Brian Head you can enjoy snow skiing in the winter, or horseback riding and ATV rentals in the summer. There are Miles and Miles of trails to explore in the entire area. A good vacation in this area would last at least a week to see the entire area. Below Brian Head is an area called Yankee Meadows, and I found it to be one of the nicest places to camp in Utah.
Beautiful place. There are many different hikes to chose from, from easy to moderate to difficult. It's definitely worth the drive. If you go between late spring and early summer you'll make it in time to see thousands of wildflowers on your drive through Cedar Breaks. It's a gorgeous example of how diverse Utah can be.
